On October 21, 2024, as part of a series of open lectures dedicated to the 90th anniversary of VSMU, a lecture was held by the head of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare with the course of the Faculty of Advanced Training and Continuing Education, Professor V.S. Glushanko on the topic "Organizational models of world health care systems" for the 5th-year students, teachers and healthcare managers.

An alley dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders was planted in the botanical garden of Vitebsk State Medical University.

The Rector of VSMU Aleksey Chukanov, the university administration, teachers and students took part in the planting of the alley.

On October 17, 2024, VSMU hosted the opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the Week of Parental Love and the innovative educational project "Youth of VSMU for Family Values. Large Families are the National Wealth of Belarus". The project "Youth of VSMU for Family Values!" has been implemented at the university since 2021 as part of the trilateral cooperation of VSMU, the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Pokrov Charitable Foundation for the Support of Family, Motherhood and Childhood. The project team members are university students.

On October 16-17, 2024, the Rector of the Vitebsk State Medical University Alexey Chukanov took part in the Forum of Rectors of Universities of Russia, Brazil and Belarus and the Forum of Rectors of Universities of the BRICS Countries in order to inform about the potential of medical universities in the Republic of Belarus.
