On October 13, 2024, the team of the military-patriotic Club of VSMU "I Serve the Fatherland" took part in the military-sports competition "Onslaught", which was held in the 103rd separate guards airborne brigade in order to strengthen the prestige of service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, to cultivate patriotism, to improve the skills of young people in military training and military-applied sports.
Teams from three leading universities of the region took part in the competition: Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University, Vitebsk State Technological University and
Teams consisting of students and teachers demonstrated themselves in sports disciplines, shooting, medical and tactical training, and demonstrated their knowledge in a military-historical quiz.
The tournament stages were: "City Fight", "Tactical Shooting", "Remember the Past, Be Proud of the Present, Think About the Future!".
They included the ability to quickly equip with personal protective equipment, disassembling and assembling an AK-74 assault rifle, building a defensive fortification from 20-kilogram sandbags, a sniper duel, a forced march with overcoming an obstacle course, providing first aid to the wounded, and a competition on the history of the native country.
Based on the results of three competitions, our team won second place.
Participants were awarded the winner's cup, diplomas and memorable gifts from the military commissariat of the Vitebsk region, regional branches of the Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan and the RPO «Patriots of Belarus» .
