An alley dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders was planted in the botanical garden of Vitebsk State Medical University.
The Rector of VSMU Aleksey Chukanov, the university administration, teachers and students took part in the planting of the alley.
During the event more than 30 young red maple, hazelnut and walnut trees were planted, symbolizing growth and development, as well as the memory of the heroic past of the Belarusian people. As VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov noted: “This is a long-awaited event for us, today we leave a memory of an important milestone for our university – the 90th anniversary of VSMU. Another alley was planted in honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders in memory of those heroes of our country who made today’s happy day possible.”
