Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of VSMU and devoted to the memory of V.S. Kunitsky was held in the conference hall of the morphological building of VSMU on September 24, 2021. The conference was held online.

Why this holiday is so important for the country

We celebrate the new state holiday established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus on September 17. This is a direct reference to the historical milestone of the unification of the Belarusian lands in 1939. The modern context is no less significant: in order to defend the right to continue to develop as an independent state in a complex and contradictory modern world, society must be united.

We need to value our history, traditions and the national foundation that has been strengthened for centuries in the people's struggle for unity and state independence.

State Educational Institution “National Institute for Higher Education” invites foreign citizens to pass Certification Testing of Russian or Belarusian as a Foreign Language. Passing testing in Russian/Belarusian as a foreign language will allow a foreign student or graduate to receive an independent assessment of their knowledge, and confirm the level of proficiency in Russian/Belarusian. The ceremonial opening of the Training Center for Practical and Simulation Competence of VSMU, created with funds allocated by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and equipped with the most modern facilities, took place on September 1, 2021. Students of the medical university, workers of practical health care, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and many others will be trained on the basis of the center. Training in a Simulation Center allows you to: acquire clinical experience in a virtual environment without risk to the patient; conduct trainings at a convenient time (regardless of the work of the clinic and the availability of patients); practice actions in case of a rare pathology (when during the period of clinical studies there are no patients with these diseases); carry out an unlimited number of repetitions of the skill, and reduce the "stress of contact" with the patient. In addition, it provides detailed pedagogical certification and assessment of the achieved level of skill, which in turn provides ample opportunities for certification and accreditation of medical specialists.
