Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of VSMU and devoted to the memory of V.S. Kunitsky was held in the conference hall of the morphological building of VSMU on September 24, 2021. The conference was held online.
The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector of Educational Work, Professor N.Yu. Konevalova, who greeted all speakers and participants and noted the importance of holding scientific sessions with mandatory compliance of protective measures during a pandemic. Next speaker, Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Associate Professor M.A. Krishtopova dedicated her speech to her teacher, V.S. Kunitsky, who passed away prematurely in 2020. The first report on the topic “Predictions of Tympanoplasty” was presented by Professor O. G. Khorov, Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology (Grodno State Medical University).
All speakers recalled Vladimir Sergeevich with a kind word, emphasizing his personal contribution to strengthening the ENT service, training highly qualified specialists who work not only in the Republic of Belarus, but also in foreign countries.
Thanks to the international cooperation of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of VSMU, the conference program demonstrated unique reports of otorhinolaryngologists not only from all over Belarus, but also from the Russian Federation. And this eventful day of the conference ended with a report by Dr. Frederic Acke from University of Ghent (Belgium).
All the speeches were very informative, comprehensive, and united by the spirit of unity of otorhinolaryngologists from different parts of the world.
