On June 7-8, 2024, the Republican Festival of National Cultures was held in Grodno, in which our students from Sri Lanka took part for the first time.

The festival began with a theatrical procession. Representatives of different nations of the world walked in one column in traditional costumes and with national symbols. Then there was a festive concert and fireworks.

The second and most colorful festival day was remembered for the diversity and unique flavor of national “farmsteads”. Our students demonstrated fiery Sri Lankan dance.

From June 3 to June 7, 2024, the Faculty of Pre-University Training of VSMU together with the Faculty of Pediatrics held the Week of the Faculty of Pediatrics, timed to coincide with the International Children's Day in order to attract applicants to the specialty "Pediatrics", within the framework of which the following events were held: excursions for students of general secondary educational establishments to the Vitebsk Regional Specialized Children's Home and the campaign "Clean Hands - the Key to Health" in the preschool educational establishment under the guidance of the head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 1 Elena Kosenkova; a master class on newborn resuscitation under the guidance of the head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 Lyudmila Zhuravleva; a round table "Let's Talk About the Profession of a Pediatrician" with the Dean of the Faculty of Pediatrics Tatyana Ryabova.

On June 7, 2024, a dialogue platform was held for the VSMU employees on the topic “Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War” with the participation of the Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of the Execution of Legislation in the Prosecutor’s Office of the Vitebsk Region, Senior Adviser of Justice Igor Metelitsa.

Igor Vladimirovich briefed those present on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and answered questions from the event participants.

On June 4, 2024, the professional skills competition for dental students “Dentistry is our profession” ended, in which 5 teams from higher medical educational establishments of Belarus and Russia took part: the Order of the Red Banner of Labor Medical Institute named after. S.I. Georgievsky,  Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education named after V.I. Vernadsky, Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Omsk Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, National Research State University of Nizhny Novgorod named after N.I. Lobachevsky; Institute of Clinical Medicine, Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University, Belarusian State Medical University.
