On September 6, 2024, the Summer Amphitheater hosted a ceremonial Council dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and the initiation of first-year students of the Vitebsk State Medical University.

The following honored guests took part in the celebration: the Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, the Deputy Head of the Main Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Lyudmila Kovaleva, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Society of Medical Sciences Vladimir Plytkevich, the Bishop of Drutsky Evsevy, the Head of the Oktyabrsky District Administration of Vitebsk Vladimir Belevich, the Rector of the University, the Vice-rectors, the deans, the faculty of VSMU, the students.

According to tradition first-year students were given symbols of their future profession: "Doctor's ABC", "Pharmacist's ABC", "Dentist's ABC" and "Pediatrician's ABC", as well as symbolic student cards signed by the Rector of VSMU. During the event the students who demonstrated themselves in scientific, educational and social activities in the 2023/2024 academic year, as well as the students who provided assistance in organizing the acceptance of documents during the admissions campaign, were awarded with the gratitude from the Rector of the University.

The final part of the ceremonial event was the taking of the freshman oath.

A wonderful gift for the beginning of the academic year for the students and staff of VSMU was a large-scale concert, the program of which combined the most vivid and spectacular numbers performed by the creative groups of the VSMU student club. The audience was able to enjoy fiery dances, favorite songs, as well as the performance by the KVN team.

The celebration ended with the composition "The Best University in the World", which the artists performed together with the audience.
