On the 24th of January a bright and varied program on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Republic of India organized by the Embassy of India in Minsk took place. Senkovich M.A., Deputy Dean of the Overseas Students Training Faculty, S.M. Nazarev, teacher and event planner of Vitebsk State Medical University, 2nd year student of OSTF Bhatt Sushan, chairman of Sri-Lankan Students Union, 5th year student of OSTF Mamidi Sai Gowtham took part in this solemn event.
Student Bhatt Sushan was invited to this reception to show his ten exclusive artworks. His wonderful paintings that are focusing on mythological themes and reflecting philosophical problems of Indian culture interested all the guests.
The program began from the national anthem of India and the national anthem of Belarus and was followed by the speeches of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India in Belarus Sangita Bahadur and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Dapkyunas Andrei Vadimovich. National Indian dances, beautiful melodies on saxophone and the ceremony of cutting a huge cake with Indian symbols made the evening even more colorful. Everyone could taste dishes of the unique national Indian cuisine.
Student Bhatt Sushan also could make the speech. He thanked the organizers and spoke about the uniqueness of Indian art and culture.
I would like to express my gratitude to the administration of our university for the opportunity to take part in such a significant event and congratulate all Indian students of VSMU with the Day of the Republic of India!
