Vitebsk Dermatological Readings - 2019

On April 5, 2019, the traditional annual international scientific-practical conference "Vitebsk Dermatological Readings: Evidence-Based Medicine in Dermatology and Venereology" was held at Vitebsk State Medical University. This forum was attended by 270 dermatovenerologists and cosmetologists, general practitioners, representatives of various therapeutic specialties (rheumatology, allergology, endocrinology), pediatricians and oncologists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Slovenia, Norway, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland.

44 reports were presented at four sessions and sections "Plenary meeting", "Dermatocosmetology", "Dermatology: clinical cases from practice", "Dermatovenereology: in aid of the practitioner" within the framework of this conference. Students and staff of medical educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation were among participants - the representatives of practical public health.

During this scientific event, the representatives of Belarusian and foreign specialized clinics focused on modern principles and approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dermatovenereological pathology in their presentations and shared their accumulated experience in treatment of most challenging diseases.

The exhibition of medical literature and medical products invoked a great interest, undoubtedly useful both from a practical and educational point of view. Speakers and guests from Slovenia, Georgia, Ukraine, and Norway got also acquainted with the department of plastic surgery, presented by K.V. Sachek, chief doctor of the university clinic.

This conference became an excellent training seminar on dermatology and venereology for students, clinical interns and graduate students of Vitebsk State Medical University and gave an opportunity to hear reports from renowned scientists and teachers from eight countries worldwide.

The organizers of the conference hope this tradition would continue and invite participants to the next “Vitebsk Dermatological Readings”, which is planned to be held on April 3, 2020.
