On February 9, 2017, within the frames of the reference visit to the Vitebsk region, the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Pankaj Saxena paid a courtesy visit to Vitebsk State Medical University. The rector of VSMU, prof. A.T. Shchastny, vice-rector for International Affairs and Work with foreign citizens Ph.D. M.M. Savchuk, vice-rector of Ideological Affairs O.A. Syrodoeva, and the Head of International Department Ph.D. O.V. Matyushchenko took part in the meeting with the Ambassador.
During the visit, Mr. Pankaj Saxena became acquainted with facilities and resources of the University, visited the anatomical museum, electronic library, and lecture rooms. When meeting with the rector, which was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, they discussed the prospects of cooperation between our countries in the field of medical education, opportunities to increase the number of Indian citizens to study at Vitebsk State Medical University. Then the Ambassador held a meeting with Indian students from VSMU. During the conversation, they told Mr. Pankaj Saxena about conditions of study and accommodation, shared their success in academic process and cultural life of the university. When the visit was over, the Ambassador expressed his desire to further contribute to strengthening of friendly and business ties between the Vitebsk State Medical University and the Republic of India.
