The Diwali celebrations organised by the Indian Medical Students’ Union was held on 6th of November 2022 at Restaurant. Cultural Dean Maria Alexeevna, Dinesh Nithiyanandadeva, students from Indian and Srilankan students’ Union and many others were present in the function.
Celebrations started with the pooja offerings to the goddesses Lakshmi Saraswathi and Durgai followed by the lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the special guests. Prithive Chakravarthy, President of the Indian Medical Students’ Union delivered a speech welcoming all the guests to the function. There were special performances by the students of Indian students community such as dances and showcasing of traditional self defence skills. Cultural Dean Maria Alekseevna in her speech talked about the importance of Diwali and wished all the students a happy and a prosperous Diwali.
Then food was served to all the attendees. The Indian students have put such a great effort in treating the guests with variety of tasty dishes. DJ Lalabuva entertained the guests with his selection of groovy beats and everyone had a great time dancing to it. To mark Diwali and the conclusion of a great event there were fireworks which were so colourful to see.
