The students and employees of VSMU took part in the International meeting of descendants of winners “Grandsons of Victory”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the storming of the fortress city of Koenigsberg and the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The meeting was held from April 6 to 10, 2025, in Kaliningrad and united 100 volunteers from 47 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan. About 500 applications were submitted by direct descendants of the participants of the East Prussian Offensive Operation. The volunteers had a rich program: training events, lectures on history, excursions, actions “Readings of Victory”, “Garden of Memory”, “No abandoned graves”, “Colors of Victory”. Also “grandchildren of winners” took part in congratulating veterans of the Great Patriotic War and solemn laying of flowers at the memorial to the 1200 Guardsmen.

The meeting “Grandsons of Victory” is a unique project that united volunteers who preserve historical memory, traditions, values, connection of generations and creative labor.
