On March 27, 2025, VSMU hosted an expanded meeting of the Presidium of the Oktyabrsky District Council of the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans of Vitebsk on the topic: "On the practice of the primary organization of veterans of the educational establishment Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University."

The event was opened by Dmitry Kuzhel, the Vice Rector for Ideological and Educational Work at VSMU, who addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Larisa Olenskaya, the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Coordination Council of City structures of public associations and Political parties, took part in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Natalia Lepeshkina, the Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk.

Sergey Geut, the Chairman of the Council of VSMU Veterans, made a report on the main issue.

The event was also attended by Alexander Myasoedov, the chairman of the primary organization of the trade union of employees, and Elena Sharykhina, the chairman of the primary organization of the Belarusian Union of Women.

The participants of the event exchanged views and outlined ways to implement the plans and tasks of the veteran movement in the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk.

The event ended with an educational tour of the university, during which the guests were able to get acquainted with the history, modern activities and material and technical base of one of the leading medical universities in the country.

The meeting was held in a warm, businesslike atmosphere and contributed to strengthening cooperation between the city's veteran organizations.
