On March 19, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University held an essay contest dedicated to the achievements of independent Belarus. The event united not only domestic students, but also representatives of foreign countries, which emphasized the importance of the topic for the young generation.

The organizers of the contest were the administration of VSMU, the military-patriotic club “I Serve the Fatherland”, the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.

Alexey Chukanov, the Rector of VSMU, and Nikolay Dorofeev, the Vice-Rector for Security, Regime and Personnel, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. They noted the significance of such initiatives for education of patriotism, strengthening of national identity and preservation of historical memory.

The contest became a platform for expressing opinions, exchanging ideas and demonstrating talents. The participants presented their works reflecting their views on the historical path of Belarus, its achievements in various spheres and development prospects.
