On February 21, 2025, in Vitebsk State Medical University a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus was held.

The festive atmosphere filled the hall where the staff, teachers and students gathered.

The words of congratulations were addressed by the First Vice-rector of VSMU Alina Shchupakova, Vice-rector for security, regime and personnel Nikolay Dorofeev, the Colonel of medical service, Head of military department Igor Lyatos, the representative of the primary organization of public association “Belarusian Union of Women”, the Head of pathological physiology department Lyudmila Belyaeva.

Creative numbers-congratulations prepared by the students-activists of VSMU became a bright decoration of the event. Songs, poems and musical compositions sounded, imbued with the spirit of patriotism and respect for people who defended and protected their native land.

During the event it was noted that the preservation of historical memory is the foundation of the future of the country, the main value in the consciousness of every Belarusian, and the guarantee of a peaceful and happy life today is not only a careful attitude to history and upbringing of young people on Belarusian traditions, but also a conscientious attitude to study and labor.
