The University Rector Alexei Chukanov opened the evening, who in his introductory speech emphasized the need to maintain historical memory and respect for the feat of internationalist warriors, because Afghanistan is not just a page of history, but the pain that still lives in the hearts of people.

The evening united veterans, employees and students of the VSMU.

During the event, war veterans in Afghanistan, reserve officers and today are teachers of the military department of our university: senior teacher Sergey Trishin, associate professor Vladimir Syrovko, senior teacher Vladimir Vladimirov. They shared their memories and thoughts about those events.

Literary and musical compositions prepared by students of the university were also presented, and documentary personnel reflecting the events of the war and its consequences were shown.

The event was an important step in strengthening the connection between generations and a reminder of the value of the world and human life. The memory of the past is the basis of our future!
