40 years ago, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, for great merits in training personnel for practical healthcare, as well as training personnel for foreign countries and in connection with the 50th anniversary, Vitebsk State Medical University was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples.

On December 16, 2024, the administration, staff and students of the university gathered in the foyer of the main academic building of VSMU to solemnly celebrate this anniversary date.

The Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov congratulated those gathered and noted that the Order of Friendship of Peoples is certainly a symbol and a source of pride for our university, where students from more than 40 countries have been studying for several decades.

Beautiful, melodic songs in Belarusian and Russian were performed by the VSMU students, after which everyone was invited to see our Order of Friendship of Peoples with their own eyes once again.
