On December 12, 2024, the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Pharmacy. Challenges of the Time" was held in the conference hall of the morphological building of VSMU, organized by VSMU jointly with the Institute of Pharmacy named after A.P. Nelyubin of Sechenov University (hereinafter referred to as the Institute of Pharmacy).

The conference was opened by the Deputy Director for Research of the Institute of Pharmacy, PhD, the Associate Professor M.Yu. Stepanova. The Professor of the Department of Pharmacy Organization and Economics of the Institute of Pharmacy G.T. Glembotskaya and the Vice-Rector for Research of VSMU, MD E.G. Asiryan addressed the conference participants with greetings. The students, postgraduate students, young specialists in practical pharmacy, young scientists - teachers of the departments took part in the conference.

A total of 24 reports were heard, devoted to various areas of drug circulation: synthesis of pharmaceutical substances, pharmaceutical development of drugs and study of their activity, determination of authenticity and quantitative content of pharmaceutical substances, study of pharmaceutical market segments, new tools for promoting drugs, etc.

Particularly interesting for the conference participants was the report of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Sechenov University, PhD, Associate Professor T.M. Litvinova, "Assessment of the Current and Prospective Need for Personnel with Higher Pharmaceutical Education in the Russian Federation".

In their closing remarks, the Professor of the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy of the Institute of Pharmacy G.T. Glembotskaya and the Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty of VSMU V.V. Kugach noted the high scientific level of the reports, presentations, and interesting discussion.
