On December 9, 2024, a meeting was held between the Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University Alexey Chukanov and the VSMU team, which represented the university at the VII International Student Surgery Olympiad, which was held from December 4 to 6 in Novosibirsk.

The students shared their impressions with Alexey Nikolaevich, talked about the interesting and most striking moments of the Olympiad program. The team leader, the Head of the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of VSMU Anna Kupchenko, noted the high level of training of our students, an indicator of which is the many diplomas won by the students in the Olympiad competitions. The participants thanked Alexey Nikolaevich for the favorable conditions created at VSMU for the professional development of students, and also noted that achieving such high results became possible thanks to the practice-oriented training system operating at VSMU. Alexey Nikolaevich congratulated the team on their successful performance at the Olympiad, wished them further success and new victories, and presented the students with memorable gifts.
