On December 5, 2024, at the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Center, a regional training seminar "Rational feeding of newborns" was held in the lecture hall of the pediatric faculty for obstetricians-gynecologists, neonatologists, pediatricians and general practitioners. The seminar was organized with the active participation of the staff of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 with the course of the Faculty of Advanced Training and Personnel Retraining of the VSMU.

In her opening remarks, the Dean of the pediatric faculty of the VSMU, T.M. Ryabova, drew attention to the role of proper nutrition in programming people's health.

The Head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 with the course of advanced training and personnel retraining Zhuravleva L.N. read the reports "Nutrition after birth: priority of breastfeeding" and "Nutrition of a premature baby in a hospital setting", the associate professor Potapova V.E. made reports "Hypoallergenic mixtures - prevention of allergies from birth" and "Nutrition of a premature baby at the outpatient stage". In their reports, the staff of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 with the course of advanced training and retraining of VSMU highlighted the important problem of the influence of nutrition during pregnancy and feeding of full-term and premature babies in the first years of a child's life on the risk of developing such diseases as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and atherosclerosis in the future.

Students of the Faculty of Medicine, the staff of the Faculty of Pediatrics of VSMU, and medical specialists listened to the presented information with interest.
