On November 1, 2024, on the day of the 90th anniversary of the Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University, a solemn ceremony of laying a capsule with a message to descendants was held.

The letter to the future is addressed to those who will accept and continue the work of previous generations and will be opened in honor of the 150th anniversary of the university, in 2084.

Addressing the assembled staff and students, the VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov noted: “For the first time in the history of our university, we are laying a capsule with a message to descendants. In this message, we have put all our wishes and hopes that 60 years later, when new students and teachers open this capsule, they will read that we have made every effort to ensure the prosperity of our country, so that our university is listed in the educational services market, so that it is a pleasant place to study and work.”

The message to the descendants was laid by the Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov, a student of the pharmaceutical faculty Kirill Gavrilov, a student of the medical faculty Yana Kaznovetskaya, a student of the FOST Abdul Vahab Ahmed Sadhanu, a student of the pediatric faculty Alena Dzhanoyan and a student of the dental faculty Fyodor Chernenok.

The ceremony ended with the action "Let's sing the anthem of VSMU together", which has become a good tradition at our university.
