On October 31, 2024, VSMU hosted the Republican scientific and practical conference with the international participation "Medical education of the 21st century", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university.

As part of the conference, a meeting of 5 sections was held, where the problems and prospects for the development of continuous medical and pharmaceutical education were discussed, including the implementation of a competency-based approach in the educational process, the formation of professional and supra-professional competencies of students, the use of innovative pedagogical and information and communication technologies in education, the strategy for the development of export of educational services in the field of education, modern trends in additional education of adults, new forms and methods of ideological and educational work.
