As part of the week of open lectures dedicated to the 90th anniversary of VSMU, on October 22, 2024, a lecture was given by the Rector, doctor of medical sciences, chief specialist in ultrasound diagnostics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, member of the expert council on health care of the executive committee of the interparliamentary assembly of the CIS countries, Alexey Nikolaevich Chukanov, on the topic "Modern possibilities of ultrasound diagnostics" to the 6th-year students of the medical faculty and university teachers.

During the lecture, Alexey Nikolaevich noted that ultrasound is a necessary condition for diagnosis and an indispensable tool for examining patients. Modern ultrasound capabilities were demonstrated, such as three-dimensional sonography, image inversion, and sonoelastography. The lecture aroused increased interest and attention among the audience.
