VSMU staff members - the Professor Ishchenko O.V., the Associate Professor Alyakhnovich N.S. took an active part in the work of the First Interregional Congress on Allergology and Immunology with international participation on October 10-11, 2024 in Moscow, Russian Federation.

The eventful congress program included 2 plenary sessions, a key lecture by the Professor F.Yu. Garib, more than 6 symposia, sections on the specialty of clinical immunology and allergology, a discussion club "When an allergist is the first specialist", a school "News of molecular allergodiagnostics".

Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, the Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology at Sechenov University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences A.V. Karaulov opened the congress and delivered a report entitled "Sechenov University and State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "City Clinical Hospital 52 of the Moscow Health Department - a Union of Science and Practice". The Professor-allergist at the Medical University of Vienna, Vice-President of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, President of the Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology, Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Rudolf Valenta presented the latest information on the topic "Molecular allergy vaccines based on carrier-associated B-cell epitopes: rationale, mechanisms and advantages".

The Professor of the University of Magburg, President of the German Society of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, immunologist-allergist, Director of the Institute of Laboratory Medicine of the University Hospital of Giessen and Marburg, Harold Renz (Germany) presented a report "Resistance to inflammation: The role of the microbiome, biodiversity and the epithelial barrier". In-person reports on current topics with the results of their own research were made by the Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology with the course of the Faculty of Advanced Training and Professional Development of the educational institution "Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University" Oksana Vladimirovna Ishchenko "Immunological heterogeneity of COPD" and the Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology with the course of the Faculty of Advanced Training and Professional Development Natalia Sergeevna Alyakhnovich "New methods for diagnosing allergy to titanium and its oxide in vivo".

Participation in the congress events expanded the opportunities for cooperation between VSMU and Sechenov University.
