On October 3, 2024, VSMU hosted a reception for a distinguished guest – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sajjad Haider Khan, who visited the university for the first time. He was welcomed by the Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Organizational and Legal Work Denis Lits and the Head of the Department of International and Interregional Relations Elena Sharykhina.

Mr. Ambassador was given a presentation on the educational and scientific activities of the university, negotiations on cooperation were held, including on increasing the export of educational services. During the visit the Cultural and Educational Center of Pakistan was opened at VSMU. The Center displays paintings by Pakistani artists, clothing and household items, and images of Pakistani views. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sajjad Haider Khan expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to create the Cultural and Educational Center of Pakistan at VSMU, where Pakistani students will be able to get closer to their homeland for a while, and Belarusian students will be able to get acquainted with the rich and amazing culture of Pakistan.

A round table was held with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the university administration, teachers and students of the medical, pharmaceutical faculties, and the faculty of overseas student’s training, where a presentation of Pakistan was made and the issues of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed. The distinguished guest expressed hope for continued work with VSMU and  thanked the university administration for their cooperation.
