On September 27, 2024, within World Tourism Day, VSMU students, under the guidance of the sports club staff, went on a two-day hiking trip along the route VSMU - Lake Streshno (Sennensky District) - VSMU, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 90th anniversary of their native university.

But before setting off, the tourists tidied up the area around the monument to the Heroes of the Vitebsk Underground on Smolenskaya Square.

Then the travelers took the university bus to Orsha, where they visited the military history museum named after Hero of the Soviet Union Zaslonov and the memorial complex "For Our Soviet Motherland", and near the village of Sofiyovka they honored the memory of the partisans who fought in these places.

Afterwards, they had to walk the route, carrying everything they needed: tents, sleeping bags, provisions and personal belongings. Having reached the campsite on the shore of the picturesque Lake Streshno (Sennensky District), the tourists set up camp, cooked a fragrant dinner over a fire and had a great time in a cheerful company.
