In the first days of the academic year organizational meetings for first-year students are held at VSMU. Traditionally the Rector of the University, Alexey Chukanov, takes part in the meetings with students.

Alexey Nikolaevich congratulated the students on the beginning of the academic year, wished them a successful start in mastering their chosen profession, and also introduced the students of the medical, dental, pharmaceutical and pediatric faculties to the organization of the educational process and the opportunities that the university offers for creative and sports self-realization.

The Vice-Rector for Educational Work Dmitry Kuzhel and the deans of faculties also addressed the students with a welcoming speech.

The representatives of the youth structures of the university spoke about how to start realizing yourself from the very first day: the students' PTUO, the PO "BRYU" VSMU, the student council, the student scientific society, sports and student clubs.

At the end of the meeting, the first-year students received memorable gifts from the rector of the university.
