As part of the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia a sectional meeting “Innovative medicine and pharmacy in the Union State: priority areas and development prospects” was held at VSMU.

Before the start of the section the representatives of scientific and practical centers, the healthcare system, medical education of the Republic of Belarus, as well as pharmaceutical enterprises of the «Belfarmprom» holding demonstrated their developments, products, and presented services to the Forum participants.

The session was attended by the members of the Council of the Republic, the Deputy Secretary of the Union State Elena Bogdan, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health Care, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy of the House of the Representatives Valery Malashko, the leadership of the Ministries of Health of Belarus and Russia, the representatives of scientific institutions of the two countries.

The moderators of the section were:

from the Republic of Belarus – the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, the Chief Physician of the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus - Dr. Irina Abelskaya,

from the Russian Federation - Olga Zabralova, the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy.

The parties discussed problematic issues of the interaction and prospects of cooperation in the field of healthcare within the framework of the main directions of implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026.

Nine agreements on the cooperation in healthcare, medical education, digitalization, etc. were signed after the conclusion of the section meeting "Innovative Medicine and Pharmacy in the Union State: Priority Areas and Development Prospects".

The resolution approved by the participants of the sectional meeting was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, the Chief Physician of the Republican Clinical Medical Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus - Dr. Irina Abelskaya and the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Olga Zabralova.

As for the agreements on cooperation from the Belarusian side the documents were signed by Aleksey Chukanov - the Rector of the All-Union State Medical University, Sergey Rubnikovich - the Rector of the Belarusian State Medical University, and Aleksey Shcherbinsky - the Director of the Republican Scientific and Research Center for Medical Technologies, Informatization, Management and Economics of Healthcare.
