On June 13-14, 2024, a republican scientific and practical conference with the international participation “Heart rhythm disturbances: current status, problems, solutions” was held at VSMU.

The event brought together more than 130 medical specialists from the Vitebsk region providing medical care to patients with heart rhythm disorders.

On the opening day of the conference, the rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov, the director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Cardiology”, the head of the Department of Cardiology and Internal Diseases of BSMU, the chief freelance cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Mitkovskaya, the head of the main health department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Mikhail Vishnevetsky, the chief Doctor of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Cardiology Center Natalya Podolinskaya.

During the conference a wide range of issues were discussed - from the diagnosis of heart rhythm disturbances in the fetus and the contribution of genetic factors to the development and progression of atrial fibrillation to the use of modern technologies and promising areas for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

The conference program included both scientific reports and clinical case studies, as well as master classes on ablation of complex heart rhythm disorders from leading experts in the field of arrhythmology from the Republic of Belarus and neighboring countries.
