On December 13, 2023, at VSMU, the Department of Public Health and Healthcare with the course of FAT and PR at the Faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel held the event “Round table “Young doctor through the eyes of a student and the head of a healthcare organization,” in which the final year students of the medical and dental faculties, the University employees, the chief doctors and deputy chief doctors of healthcare organizations in the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Professor Natalya Konevalova presented the subordinates with the information about the procedure for assigning students, their rights and responsibilities.

The heads of healthcare organizations in the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions told students about their organizations and the requirements for doctors working in practical healthcare.

The students were able to ask all the questions they were interested in.

Issues of labor relations, provision of housing for young professionals, wages, career opportunities, etc. were discussed.

The managers shared their personal experience of starting their professional activities and further career growth, talked about mentoring, and the opportunities for the development in the medical specialty. Particular attention was paid to the importance of developing independence from the very beginning of medical practice and the gradual acquisition of professional experience.

Attention was also paid to the socially oriented policy of our state.

The conversation turned out to be constructive, sincere, trusting, friendly and positive.
