On October 20, 2023, as part of the Week of Parental Love, the “Family Hearth” project was implemented at VSMU. The most active and academically successful university students were given the opportunity to spend time with their parents, gathering at the “Family Hearth” at VSMU.

Parents from different regions of Belarus were invited to the event. They were able not only to spend time with their children, but also to learn more about their everyday life, about the university bases where the children study. Parents were given a tour of the university, where they got acquainted with the opportunities that have been created at VSMU for the comprehensive development of students. The participants of the event visited the Department of Normal Human Anatomy, the library, the OEF Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the training center for practical training and simulation training at VSMU, where they were able not only to observe the process, but also to try themselves as a doctor using mannequins and simulators. The event ended with a tea party in the VSMU student cafe, where parents in an informal setting were able to communicate with the university administration, their children and VSMU activists.

This project was proposed by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union of the University and supported by the administration and student council of VSMU.

The university activists, students and their parents express gratitude to the university rector Alexey Chukanov, vice-rector for educational work Natalya Boltrushevich and the university staff for their assistance in implementing this project and the opportunity to take part in it.
