On October 12-13, 2023 the XVII Congress of Surgeons of the Republic of Belarus and the scientific and practical conference “Surgery in Belarus - state and development” took place in Mogilev.

The forum was attended by a delegation from VSMU, headed by the head of the department of hospital surgery with the course of FAT&R (Faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining), Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Anatoly Shchastny.

First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus Elena Krotkova, Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Valery Malashko, Director of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Oleg Rummo, Deputy Chairman of the BTUHW Elena Latushkina and others addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech.

The program includes problematic issues in the field of hepatobiliary surgery, transplantology, surgical gastroenterology, coloproctology, microsurgery, vascular, thoracic, bariatric surgery, surgical infections, new diagnostic and treatment technologies, gerontological aspects in planned and emergency surgery.
