On March 10-12, 2023, at the sports base “Secondary school No. 45 named after V.F. Margelov” there was a championship of the Vitebsk region in badminton called “Silver Shuttlecock”. Students and staff of the university took an active part in the competition. Kanishk Ratnakumar (2nd year, FOST) took 1st place in the individual championship among men, Mohamed Rizkan (6th year, FOST) and Kanishk Ratnakumar (2nd year, FOST) took 3rd place in the men's doubles.

In the individual championship and in the doubles among men, 2nd place was taken by the instructor of the sports club of VSMU Suvorov Yu.Yu. The VSMU team included: Ranumi Wijesena (5th year, FOST), Ruvini Kapuruge (1st year, FOST), Mohamed Rizkan (6th year, FOST), Kanishk Ratnakumar (2nd year, FOST).
