On February 21-22, 2019, the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of EE "Vitebsk State Medical University" hosted the Olympiad on operative surgery with international participation dedicated to the 85th anniversary of VSMU. Such medical universities as Smolensk State Medical University (SSMU), Belgorod State National Research University (NRU BelSU), Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov (RNRMU) and Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University (VSMU) took part in this competition by sending their teams of six 3rd – 6th year students.

VSMU in cooperation with Kaplan Medical, the world leader in USMLE preparation, announces the program for foreign students to pass the USMLE exam series in order to become a certified doctor to practice medicine in USA. International students from other medical universities are welcomed to participate in this program as well.

From February 11 to June 5 2019 the XLV competition "Lifestyle, health and success - 85 Anniversary of VSMU" is held in the educational establishment "Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University".

Participants are offered to create video, multimedia presentation, sanitary bulletin, posters, lecture, guidebook, booklet and other forms of healthy lifestyle popularization for the page "Healthy Lifestyle" on the official website of VSMU.

Students of all faculties and courses, postgraduates, clinical residents and university staff are invited to take part in this competition.

From 1 January to 31 March 2019 the project competition to improve the educational process "85 Anniversary of VSMU" is held in VSMU.

The main purpose of the competition is to attract talented young people to the university's educational activities.

The competition is open to students, graduate students, clinical residents and lecturers of VSMU.
