On December 13, 2023, at VSMU, the Department of Public Health and Healthcare with the course of FAT and PR at the Faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel held the event “Round table “Young doctor through the eyes of a student and the head of a healthcare organization,” in which the final year students of the medical and dental faculties, the University employees, the chief doctors and deputy chief doctors of healthcare organizations in the Vitebsk and Mogilev regions.

On December 13, 2023, the delegation of Vitebsk State Medical University took part in the inter-university stage of the “100 ideas for Belarus” competition. VSMU students Elizaveta Ivanova, Karolina Grigorieva and Vyacheslav Afanasyev presented 4 projects. All projects were highly appreciated and advanced to the next stage of the competition. The vice-Rector for Scientific Work of VSMU Elena Asiryan and the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists Vyacheslav Prishchepenko became the members of the competition commission for the regional stage. In addition, as part of the competition, an exhibition of the achievements of young scientists from higher educational institutions in the Vitebsk region was organized. VSMU was represented by the student competitors and member of the Council of Young Scientists Yuri Pavlov.

Based on the results of the examination at the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission, on December 13, 2023, Associate Professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Candidate of Medical Sciences Alexander Borisovich BIZUNKOV was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the specialty “Medicine”.

On December 13, 2023, VSMU hosted a dialogue platform “Electoral system of the Republic of Belarus. Single voting day" with first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine.

The event was organized by the Department of Educational Work with Youth of VSMU, the deputy deans, and the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On December 4-9, 2023, the Open Cup of Belarus in boxing among men and women was held in Minsk. Gleb Ivanov, a 4th year student of the Faculty of Medicine at VSMU, took third place in the weight category up to 92 kg at these competitions. The athlete trains under the guidance of Master of Sports of the USSR Leonid Bolshakov - the head of the Department of Physical Culture at VSMU.
