On March 1, 2024, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets opened the 21st international exhibition for students, applicants and their parents “Education and Career”, which was attended by the delegation from VSMU led by the Rector of the university Alexey Chukanov and the Vice-rector for international relations and organizational-legal work Denis Lits. At the event, master classes from students of all faculties were demonstrated and a virtual excursion in the form of videos was presented, as well as information and souvenir materials were distributed. The VSMU stand was the center of attention. While visiting it, the Minister of Education spoke with the university leadership and students, outlining the prospects for the development of higher medical education.

Teachers of the educational establishment “Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University” continue to provide medical and advisory assistance to practical healthcare doctors in the regions of Vitebsk and Mogilev.

On February 26-28, 2024, visits were made to health care institutions: Doktshitsy Central District Hospital, Ushachi Central District Hospital, Beshenkovichi Central District Hospital, Mstislavl Central District Hospital.

The assistant of the Department of General Surgery Artem Kotyashov and the assistant of the Department of Hospital Surgery with a course of FAT and PR Vladislav Derkach examined 29 patients; in Ushachi and Dokshitsy Central District Hospitals, demonstrative minimally invasive procedures were carried out in hospitals.

On February 29, 2024, the rector of Vitebsk State Medical University Alexey Chukanov, the Vice-rector for international relations and organizational and legal work of VSMU Denis Lits took part in a meeting on the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, held in the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

During the XI Forum on the basis of VSMU, a section “Innovative medicine and pharmacy in the Union State: priority areas and development prospects” will be held.

On February 28, 2024, the First Vice-rector of the Vitebsk State Medical University, Alina Shchupakova, took part in a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus “On the results of the work of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for 2023 and the main tasks for 2024,” which was held at the National Center for Children’s Artistic Creativity and youth.

The republican promotional project “Choose a student team” has started in the Vitebsk region. More than 150 people from institutions of higher, secondary special, vocational and technical education in the Vitebsk region took part in the event. A meeting of newcomers with labor teams took place at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for Educational Development.

On interactive platforms, the fighters of the student brigade movement shared their experiences and impressions, talked about everyday work, introduced the exhibition of achievements of past years, and showed master classes.
